Our Family Tree keeps growing... are you on it?
About Our Family Tree: Rives, Riviere, Herring, Layfield, Scogin, Brackin...
Just to name a few...
My family research has been in progress since 1984! My direct line being the Rives branch who came to the Glades in the early 1930's, the Thomas family from Alachua County, Florida and south Georgia, and the Riviere family who settled in the Florida panhandle and into Georgia in the 1800's. Some of these family names are found in a Civil War Diary of 1861 in Decatur, Georgia. But the most interesting was found to be Henry Lawson Riviere, who was an early settler in the Florida panhandle and helped pave the way for it's developement and growth. The McTaggart and Hartness branch from Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina. And the Bowman (and Rives) from South Carolina.
On my husbands side we have the Layfield and Herring family. The Layfield and Scogin settled in the Glades area just before the great Hurricane of 1928 showed up, they lived to tell about it. The Herring branch ventured to the Glades in the early 1930's from Headland, Alabama. The Brackin branch settled in south Alabama, they were farmers, preachers and teachers. The Brackin family were early settlers in the Blackwoods community outside of Headland, Alabama.
I will continue to work thru my research and share as much as I can. Please let me know if you find your family while here, send an email if you would like to share some info. May Your Family Be Blessed With Many Years of Wonderful Memories!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
